Palantir: a great AI business with sky-high expectations
Palantir is an excellent AI company with real government and commercial contracts and fast-growing cash flow. Flow's caution: the expectations baked into the price are enormous, so it's a watchlist name, not an automatic buy.
Palantir is a genuinely strong AI company — and that's exactly why Flow keeps it on the watchlist instead of calling it a buy. It has real contracts across both the government and private sector and its cash flow has been growing fast. But it carries sky-high expectations, so in Flow's words it's "not a cop or a flop" — you wait and watch how the numbers actually come in rather than chasing the story.
Great company, extreme price
The business is real: in 2026 Palantir's U.S. government revenue grew about 90% and U.S. commercial revenue roughly 149% year over year, with free cash flow surging. Flow also notes the political spotlight — President Trump has mentioned Palantir and its trades appear in his disclosures — but that's a headline, not a thesis. The catch is valuation: PLTR has traded around 80x forward earnings while typical enterprise-software names sit near 25–40x. At that price a huge amount of future growth is already paid for, so even excellent results can disappoint. Great company, extreme expectations — watch, don't chase.
