Why a salary alone won't make you rich — you need ownership
Your job isn't built around your financial freedom. Flow's point: after taxes and bills, a paycheck can leave you with almost nothing — real wealth comes from owning something.
A single paycheck isn't a financial plan. Flow's blunt take: your job isn't designed around your financial freedom — between taxes and the cost of everything, a hard week of work can leave very little behind. At some point you need ownership — real estate, a business, or the stock market — so your money can work when you're not.
A job doesn't owe you financial freedom
Flow's message (delivered in his usual unfiltered style) is simple: your employer isn't looking out for your long-term wealth. You can work long weeks and still watch taxes and bills eat most of the check. Depending on one paycheck to be your entire financial plan, he argues, is a losing game — especially in this economy.
The fix is ownership
"At some point you're definitely going to need ownership," Flow says — "that could be real estate, it could be a business, or it could even be the stock market." The through-line of Heavy Returns is that owning assets is how money starts working for you instead of the other way around. His on-ramp for stocks is the free START guide.
