How Flow actually invests: the three pillars and the three-factor framework
In the founding Heavy Returns webinar, Flow laid out his entire system — three pillars (long-term investing, swing trading, day trading) and the three-factor framework (technicals, fundamentals, market sentiment) he runs every trade through.
This 90-minute founding webinar is the whole Heavy Returns system in one sitting. Flow invests in three pillars — long-term investing (the base), swing trading with options (his "bread and butter"), and day trading (advanced) — and runs everything through a three-factor framework: technicals (price + volume), fundamentals (the news and earnings), and market sentiment (how the crowd feels). The goal he repeats: get 1% better every day, and move people from untrained money to trained money.
Why Heavy Returns exists
Flow — an attorney and entrepreneur turned finance educator — started Heavy Returns to do for everyday people what he wished someone had done for him: simplify the market and hold people accountable. The quote he says he looks at daily is "don't prove, improve" — he's not chasing anyone's approval, just trying to get "1% better every day." The mission underneath the whole brand: take people from untrained money to trained money.
The three pillars
Flow splits how he puts money to work into three lanes: long-term investing (buy and hold for years — where he says most of the returns actually live), swing trading with longer-dated options (his "bread and butter"), and day trading (the advanced lane, focused on a single session). Most people, he stresses, should build the long-term base first.
The base: long-term investing
For the long-term basket, Flow keeps it simple and low-cost. VOO (Vanguard's S&P 500 index) is his core — America's top 500 companies in one share, with an extremely low expense ratio (about 0.03%), unlike the pricey mutual funds in many 401(k)s. He also likes QQQ (the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100, also low-fee) and — with an explicit risk warning — BTCI, a Bitcoin-income fund that gives Bitcoin exposure and pays monthly distributions (he says to reinvest them via DRIP to compound). He's blunt that Bitcoin is volatile ("$120,000 one day, $60,000 a few weeks later") and that BTCI is the risky one — this is what he personally holds, not a recommendation. His long-term rules: hold at least 5–10 years (he intends to pass his to his kids), and don't cash out — selling triggers taxable gains and "takes out of the bucket." Because an index like the S&P 500 swaps a dying company for the next best one, "if Apple died today, they'd just replace it — the index is built to go up over time."
The bread and butter: swing trading with options
Flow's favorite setup is a swing trade using longer-dated call options (LEAPS), and the qualification is short enough to memorize: quality company + bad news → buy at-the-money calls → hold roughly 9 months to 2 years. When a great company drops on an overreaction, he buys the dip with time on his side. His example at the time of the webinar: a Meta $600-strike call, bought after Meta fell hard when Wall Street balked at its AI spending — a drop he considered an overreaction (heavy AI investment, in his view, isn't frivolous). He also referenced a swing that ran to about $165,000 in a single day when it popped. These are Flow's personal, high-risk options trades — options can expire worthless, and this is education, not advice.
Day trading (the advanced lane)
Flow calls day trading "super advanced" — for people who already understand the options lingo and can stay disciplined. It's not buying for the long term; it's focused on a single day. His consistent message across the show is to keep it tight: patience, few high-quality trades, and walking away — not hopping into 15–20 trades hoping to force it.
The three-factor framework
Whichever pillar he's in, Flow runs the decision through three inputs. Technicals — what price is doing over time — paired with volume, which he says matters even more than the chart alone. Fundamentals — the news: earnings, events, even market-moving posts. And market sentiment — how the crowd feels about a stock right now, which can diverge from what the technicals and fundamentals say. Run all three every time, and you're making a decision instead of a guess.

Sources and context behind the facts on this page. Flow's analysis is his own; sourced facts are labeled where the distinction matters.
- VOO (Vanguard S&P 500 ETF) expense ratio ~0.03%; QQQ (Invesco Nasdaq-100) — fund fact sheets
- BTCI — a Bitcoin ETF that pays monthly income/distributions (fund materials); Bitcoin is highly volatile
