Nvidia isn't just a chip company: the moat is the ecosystem
Calling Nvidia a chip company is too small. Flow's point: the real advantage is the ecosystem companies build around it — and the best investments create systems customers can't easily leave.
Everybody calls Nvidia a chip company — and Flow says that explanation is way too small. Nvidia sells the engines powering AI, but its real advantage is the ecosystem built around them. Companies don't just buy a chip; they build around Nvidia. "Great investments don't only sell products — they create systems that customers struggle to leave."
The product is the chip; the moat is the ecosystem
A chip can be copied or undercut. A whole ecosystem — the software, tooling, and workflows a customer builds on top of it — is far harder to walk away from. That's the lens Flow wants you to use on Nvidia: not "is the chip the fastest this quarter," but "how locked in are the customers?" When companies engineer their entire AI stack around one vendor, switching costs become the real durable advantage. The best investments, in Flow's framing, aren't product sellers — they're system builders customers struggle to leave.
